Billy Currington has pleaded no contest to a charge of abuse of an elderly tour boat captain who cruised past his home in coastal Georgia last April.
He was sentenced to five years' probation and a $1000 fine. He's also been ordered to undergo anger-management counseling and can have no contact with the boat captain. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of making terrorist threats.
The boat captain and two passengers say Billy chased them in their own boat and threatened him.
I'm a true Southern boy who's grown up on country music. Born and raised in South Carolina, I grew up in a small town (Newberry). I went to college then started my first radio "gig" working all night in Charlotte.
I'm married with 3 kids. In my spare time I like to play golf, fish when I can, play drums, and watch my kids do anything.
My claim to fame is I had to go up against William "The Fridge" Perry in high school football. Still have nightmares about it.
