Darion Aguilar, who killed two people and then himself at a Maryland mall this past weekend, had written in his personal journal about killing people, Howard County police have revealed.

Aguilar also wrote that he was apologizing to his family "for what he was planning to do," according to police. Aguilar wrote that he had a plan set, but did not write what that plan was or mention whether it targeted anyone specifically.

Aguilar also wrote of needing the help of a mental health professional, a need he had not disclosed to his family. He also "expresses thoughts of wanting to die and says he is ready to die. He expresses a general hatred of others," according to police.
