Hidden Camera Found In Boy's Bathroom At Texas Elementary School

A food worker at an elementary school in Texas was arrested after a hidden camera was discovered inside the boy's bathroom. Maintenance workers found the tiny camera while conducting routine work at Northside Elementary School in El Campo, Texas. They alerted the police, who launched an investigation and identified 42-year-old Scott Gelardi as a suspect. Gelardi, who is a contract worker for Aramark, the school's food service provider, was taken into custody when he arrived at work. He was charged with invasive visual recording, possession of child pornography, and possession of child pornography with intent to promote.

“El Campo Independent School District is saddened, disturbed, and angered by the alleged actions of this individual. We thank and applaud the El Campo Police Department for its work related to this incident,” the district said in a press release.

Authorities said that the camera contained photos and videos of multiple students in the bathroom. They do not believe Gelardi ever had any contact with the students, and they did not find any other cameras during an extensive search of the school.

Gelardi is being held on a $70,000 bond.
