Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, recently added two cows to their farm family, and now the country star is revealing what her son Isaiah, 5, decided to name them.
Last week, Fisher attended a cattle auction where he bought the two cows for Underwood as an early Christmas present. "@carrieunderwood wanted cows for Christmas," he wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. "Merry Christmas Babe!"
"My husband said, 'what would you like for Christmas' and I said 'I would like cows. Just for pets, you know," the Oklahoma native said in a recent interview. "He went and got me a couple of cows. They're good!."
"I mean, I love animals," Underwood added. "Cows are probably my favorite animal because I grew up with them and I think they just have such personalities and I just can't wait to really get to know ours."
Underwood went on to reveal the cows' names, saying, "My son named them Brownie and Oreo because one's brown and one is black and white.
In addition to the cows, the family also currently has three dogs, two horses, and multiple chickens. Looking ahead, the Fisher family hopes to welcome even more animals to their farm.
"I think our next [animal] is going to be donkeys because they're good to have as far as, like, coyotes go on the farm, so I think that's probably our next thing on the list," Underwood said, adding, "And I feel like we can just keep getting more and more chickens!"
Before being tasked with naming the cows, Underwood's 5-year-old son, Isaiah, joined his mom to record a duet of "Little Drummer Boy," featured on her new holiday album, My Gift.
In a recent interview with People, Underwood revealed how touching it was for her to hear Isaiah's part after the studio session. "I got to listen to his vocals [get] put together and then listening to myself with him," she explained. "I was laughing, and I was crying, and it was just very overwhelming in a good way. It's just very emotional."
Fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at Underwood recording "Little Drummer Boy" with Isaiah on her new holiday special, My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood. Additionally, the show also included an appearance by John Legend, who joins the country star to sing their duet "Hallelujah."
