Kelly Clarkson recently delivered a powerful rendition of a heartache anthem by rising singer-songwriter Avery Anna.
Anna, an Arizona-born country artist, was part of the largest CMT Next Women of Country class in history in 2023 (others in that class included Alana Springsteen, Carter Faith, Mackenzie Carpenter, MaRynn Taylor, Megan Moroney and more). Anna, 20, released her debut album, Breakup Over Breakfast, in July 2024. The 17-track album included “I Will (When You Do),” a collaboration featuring Dylan Marlowe, depicting a couple seemingly struggling with moving on. Clarkson covered the song on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week.
“I will when you do/ But you won't, so I/ Wish like hell that I could/ Get you gone, but I can’t/ Turn the light off on the front porch/ Turn the lock when you knock on my door/ If you wanna know when I'm gonna go and get over you/ Well, I will when you do/ I will when you do”
Clarkson covered the anthem by the rising country star shortly before she announced her return to Las Vegas. Clarkson will kick off Studio Sessions — The Las Vegas Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace beginning in July. Clarkson said as she posted the residency dates on Thursday morning (February 6): “I’m so excited to be back in Vegas! We’re bringing the studio to the stage this time with ‘Studio Sessions’! See you soon!”
